WHAT IS CENTRAL OPS & SERVICES?
At the Central Operations and Services Area, we provide reliable cloud solutions and different technical services to enable Mercedes-Benz digital products to focus on their business purpose.
We build up cloud infrastructure and services such as CI/CD Tools, Monitoring & Logging solutions, and many more tools used by our software development teams. Besides just providing tools, our teams collaborate closely with the Software Development teams to ensure and increase developer satisfaction by optimizing the platform services.
The Teams within the Area enables e.g. Identity Access Management or coherent customer data handling for all users interacting with the digital touchpoints.
Our central Service Management Team provides a overarching service management model including processes and tools.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
OneDNA creates a cutting-edge data platform for KPI reporting, data analyses, and data science for the digital business of Mercedes-Benz.io. We are responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing comprehensive data models that covers relevant data sources for more efficient reporting and analysis of our stakeholders.
We define and maintain KPI frameworks to ensure governance and enforcement. Our team builds and maintains dashboards with a defined business impact for stakeholders based on an aligned style guides and offer trainings. We ensure an efficient data sharing process in eXtollo for our data models, including documentation.
Our team also offers consulting and enablement around to our stakeholders and finally, we build data science use cases to support data-driven product development.
Lead the design, development, and optimization of data models to support business intelligence and analytics.
Establish and maintain a robust data architecture, ensuring efficient data flow between systems.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability by implementing best practices in database design.
Optimize database performance through indexing, table relationships, and structured queries.
Gather and analyze data requirements, raw data, and data flows from multiple sources.
Organize structured and unstructured data into scalable models that support business needs.
Transform business logic into logical and physical data models.
Ensure compliance with data governance and best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that drive strategic decisions.
Support teams in leveraging BI tools for self-service analytics.
Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business users to enhance the BI ecosystem.
Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in BI, analytics, and data modeling.
Job requirements
TO SUCCEED YOU NEED
5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data modeling, or database development.
Experience working in cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Databricks).
Data Modeling & Management: Advanced expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
SQL & Database Optimization: Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and ensuring efficient ETL processes.
Programming & Scripting: Strong experience in Python for data manipulation and automation.
BI & Visualization: Experience with Power BI, or similar tools.
Version Control: Proficiency in GIT for tracking changes and collaboration.
Data Governance & Quality Assurance: Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems and analyze data methodically.
Detail-Oriented: Commitment to accuracy and high-quality data outputs.
Requirements Analysis: Strong ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
Collaboration & Communication: Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
